Need it done? Give me a call.
If I don't do it, I got People
For most people I get the question of "What type of work do you do?" My response is, tell me what you need done and I will tell you if I can do it, or I can give you a referral to someone I trust and have worked with in the past to help you out!
My main work in the summer is decks - clean, seal, repair, build. Interior and exterior painting, drywall repairs, door installation and repairs, light electrical work, light plumbing, lots of other interior and exterior repairs. We also do light remodeling for kitchens, baths, basements. We also do pressure washing of decks, driveways, sidewalks and patios. This can be concrete, brick, wood, stucco, and vinyl or aluminum siding at the minimum. I have washed interior and exterior both as the job demands. I also have availability for some welding work and repairs.
Our primary work in the summer is deck work - cleaning, sealing, repairs, and building new decks. In addition, year-round services include but not limited to the below. If you do not see it, please ask.
About
I started Hoffman Home Services in May of 2005. I had been an automotive service manager for over 18 years while doing this type of work on the side. Between the two, I finally had enough of the 70 – 80 hour work weeks and decided to hang a shingle and go out on my own. The steady work from the friendly referrals from previous customers gave me enough to do this full time. I started doing a lot of work along the river in Kentucky in Bellevue, Covington, Ludlow and Newport. I also currently work closely with numerous realtors who need addendum work for a house getting ready to sell or the agreed upon repairs before closing.
I am fully insured with Liability and Workman’s Compensation coverage and have maintained an A+ rating from the Greater Cincinnati Better Business Bureau for over 15 years and counting.
In addition, I participate in a BNI (Business Networking International) local chapter and have an extensive base of referral relationships.

Work today had a variety on the list! The first puc of the shelves had us removing the bottom set as it was covering an outlet, and they were very loose. We fixed the holes and touched up the walls as well. We upgraded a couple of smoke detectors and swapped out some mini blinds, too. We fix a separating bathroom door, as well as tacking down trim in several locations of this rental unit. We also did wall and ceiling touch-ups of many colors to get this place looking good again! See you soon!Button

Been a crazy hot week full of a wide variety of work st one house! We replaced an old stuck wash sink faucet with new. We replaced a rusted and hard to close basement door with a full frame replacement door which had to be custom cut down in size! Then we figured out the door lock was junk and replaced that as well. We leveled out and refaced the top step for the front porch and re-caulked it after a full pressure washing first. Finally, we were able to get the rear deck pulled back to the house after losing grip on the brick due to being installed incorrectly. We also straightened out the fascia trim and added in a dozen ties to lock the deck down and make it safe! Have a great weekend and see you soon!Button
-
Work yesterday was extremely difficult. 3rd floor rooftop deck being removed and disposed of. We already had a portion of the deck pulled, but we had to finish that part and pull the framing, too. It was over 2000 lbs of composite deck and boards down down 3 long, and narrow flights of stairs. Once we hit the bottom, we had you deal with these monster wasps called Cicada Killer Wasps. They are bad dudes! Then, when loaded, we had a deck in a box! See you soon!Button

Had my day messed up by a fallen tree across the toad in front of my house on Friday. No fun. It was cleared, and I had some time left to get in a few quick repairs for this customer. We had to reattach some siding so it would not blow off completely. We also repaired a downspout and cleared a gutter, which was clogged and overflowing. It's amazing what a couple of leaves and twigs can do to cause a mess! We also repaired the front steps to a safe condition! It had one stringer that had fallen off. The other three stringers were loose or disconnected, and all the steps were loose. I used the boards left for me to fix them, so it's not very pretty. But it's safe! See you soon!Button

Been busy, folks, and it's hard to keep up with the posts? Recent work at a home getting ready for the market. We sealed and painted the basement walls. It's amazing how much better you can see after a bit of paint is splashed on the walls! We also installed a new pool cover over a very bad condition in ground pool. This is a safety cover that can be walked or crawled on in an emergency. This is also a first for us, and we are pretty happy with the results. We know a lot more if ever doing one again! We'll keep at it, and you keep following and sharing! See you soon!Button

Hey gang! We've been super busy over the last two weeks and haven't been able to post. We're catching up in one shot tonight. We've replaced steps and repaired beams at one house. We've begun work by redirecting some downspouts to ease leaking in a basement. We've completed temporary repairs on a soffit to complete a sale on a house, only to know it will be torn out in two weeks! We've installed missing ridge vent end plugs and sealed nails on a roof for a home sale closing. We've replaced an inoperable ceiling with a new one. We've repaired an exterior spigot supply for multiple connections. We've repaired a storm door latch with parts from a new one, which was the wrong color, and, finally, we've temporarily repaired a fence around a pool with some fill-in 2x4 boards because these split rails were not available in this length. We're staying really busy, but we're always looking for more work! Message me so we can help you out with your projects! See you soon!Button
-
Did you say your gutters are clogged and you were thinking about getting gutter guards? Yeah, we do that! Call or message me for a free estimate! See you soon!Button

Follow up on a very recently finished project. We've put up the before and after pics showing the changes for the job. We started out with a basement that had slight flooding over several years and was finally getting repairs started. We had mold and mildew issues, lots of plumbing and electrical work, and, of course, the structural work completed. It was a lot of work, but we couldn't have been able to deliver the finished product without help. We need to thank H20 RESTORATION (513) 909-6540 for guidance on the mold cleanup. Check them out at www.restoreh20.net or give them a call for emergency flood repairs. We also need to thank Msrkco Plumbing for their work, on eliminating the water intrusion and getting other plumbing work completed, and also @acmelectricllc for the great work for all the electrical setup and installation completed! The customer is very happy and knows it is safe to occupy the space! See you soonButton

We've been really busy this week! I'm catching up in one shot tonight. We've worked on a rental property painting window trim, installing new smoke detectors, repairing faucets and garbage disposals, reattaching shower wall panels, and installing a new ceiling fan. We've been at a property fixing four overheated outlets and repairing a couple of ceilings in the house. We've been to a home to help a very challenged man be able to take a shower by himself with grab bars! We also did a bunch of exterior siding panel replacements in advance of an upcoming full exterior paint job. All the customers were very happy with the work completed, and we've already received two referrals from them! More work tomorrow! See you soon!Button
-
Yesterday, we left a bit of a mess because we had to work late to meet the deadline. Today, we hit the deadline with a couple of hours to spare! Walls and ceilings repaired and painted, new flooring installed, electric updated and added on to, plumbing updated and fixing drainage issues, and a new bathroom and closet built in! We'll get you before and after pics tomorrow so you can see the transformation! See you soon!Button
-
It's 9:15 PM and we're tired. We let the customer know we're cleaning up tomorrow. But we got the shower installed today and caulking it up tomorrow! Flooring is completed, with a little trim work left. Tomorrow we will be done! Tired, but, See you soon!Button

Flooring is started, lights are in! The new being lights have a neat effect and look like a birds nest. Closet shelving installed and the details are getting done! Couple more days! See you soon!Button

We have color! Walls are painted, and floor issues have been leveled up! We got two coats of SW Whole Wheat Duration paint on the walls today, along with floor leveler installed in the gaps and low section by the back door! Monday will be a long day as we will be getting a lot of small details completed to prep for the beginning of the flooring installation! Wishing all the fellow DAD'S out there a wonderful Father's Day weekend! See you soon!Button
-
Closer and closer! Ceilings painted. Back closet and walls painted. Ductwork installed. Laundry tub completed with a shiny new faucet! The concrete is completed for the exterior sump pump drain! We are down to a few days left. Walls are being painted tomorrow, and flooring next week! See you soon!Button
-
Sanding and prime coat completed! Tomorrow we begin color! See you soon!Button
-
Round 2 of mud! Got this on and wanted to pre-install the faucet for the bathroom sink. Not today. I bought a standard 3 hole faucet not realizing the vanity is a single hole mount! Off to the store to swap out with a new upgraded style. Back at it tomorrow. See you soon!Button
-
Short day at the jobsite. All other work is completed that can be done. We got the closet and back of the bathroom first coated. Tomorrow is 2nd coat and a few other small items, and hopefully priming on Wednesday. See you soon!Button
-
Drywall installed after getting all the insulation completed! After taking care of some housekeeping stuff, we were able to get first skim in the bathroom and the big room as well. Also had a visit from a little friend today! Have a great weekend, and see you soon!Button
-
Insulation is almost completely installed. My new full roll was about 4 ft short! We'll get it tomorrow. Drywall and first coat of mud will be completed tomorrow. The sink has been replumbed to allow for a stacking washer/dryer as well as a kitchen style sink for future updates. We had some rain today, and the sump pump kicked on correctly and got it cleared quickly! We also covered up all the plumbing on the vavk side of the bathroom while installing an access panel for maintenance! Finally taking shape! See you soon!Button
-
I stopped by a customer's house on the way home from the current job to take a look at some work ahead. I parked, walked down the sidewalk to the front door, and rang the bell. My customer walked out and giggled as we were talking. Apparently, when I walked through the short tree only to leave my pen behind, as the branch and leaf plucked it out of my chest pocket! Otherwise, we got the drain installed with concrete to be installed next week. We also got most of the rest of the plumbing completed and more drywall! I also started to put together the vanity i thought was assembled. I hate instructions that only show pictures without details. All those dots don't always mean it's real, and it's just a printing error! See you soon!Button
-
Work keeps on going! Drywall work, installing the exterior portion of the bathroom exhaust fan, and more demo for the drain. The drain should be done tomorrow, as well as most of the rest of the plumbing! That will allow us to get the drywall fully installed and start the mud process. See you soon!Button
-
Finally, getting the sump pump installed at the job! This will get us going on the drywall in the main room! They figured out the drain at the bottom of the stairs was not connected to anything! We also did some straightening and a lot of un-square drywall installation due to the original construction. Back at it tomorrow! See you soon!Button
-
Hey guys and gals! Couldn't post yesterday, so you get a daily double! I'm still at work on the basement and got a lot done! My friends Markco Plumbing got the plumbing started by getting my shower pan set after tearing up some of the concrete floor. We were able to drywall the second closet, get some small drywall repairs started, get some more materials brought in. We also had to reroute the downspout drain from the upstairs back door to around the side of the house to get it away from the stairs. We also get the exhaust for the bathroom plumber out towards the side of the house, which we will finish on Monday! Busy, busy, busy! Have a great weekend, and see you soon!Button
-
Oddball day today. Morning BNI meeting and then to store for materials. Plumbers couldn't make it today, so I had to find stuff to get done. Electrician got all of his work completed, so many lights and fans, and outlets! I was able to get all my trim and doors painted, as well as getting a downspout for the exterior painted! Back at it tomorrow! See you soon!Button
-
Getting some electric work completed today! My friend Abe from @acmelectricllc is completing all of the additional electrical work needed on this project! We've got new lighting, outlets, and bathroom complete with lights, exhaust, etc. Once I get this done, I can start getting walls covered, and we'll just need the plumbing work done. Have a great holiday weekend and see you soon!Button
-
Today turned out to be a wasted day! Went to get materials at my normal supply house and ended up waiting for over 2 hours to load due to being the 4th guy in line to get flooring. 15 sheets of drywall, 32 boxes of flooring, 2 buckets of drywall mud, and a lot of trim and shower parts. It didn't look like a lot, but it took over 2 hours to unload due to rain. Today was a wasted day. Back at it tomorrow! See you soon!Button
-
Two stops today! Started with a primer coat of paint on my basement redo. We used Kilz Restoration Primer to get this room in a safe, livable condition. Many thanks to H2O Restoration for their guidance on this part of the job! Have to let that dry so we get to job two. We replaced an electronic entry system for a B&B that had been tampered with and damaged. We also had to repair the frame of the very old entry door for the dead bolt. It was heavily worn and made it hard for the deadbolt to work properly! Another happy customer! See you soon!Button
-
Finished the framing of the amazingly uneven, un-square, crooked wall, a lot more, basement bathroom! Took way longer than it should have if it had been correctly originally. The first picture is the key photo today. I had my good friends at H20 Restoration out of Cincinnati stop by to help me make sure this basement was going to be safe to live in. After about 45 minutes, I had a list of chores and materials to buy for my next several days on this job. The mold is not too bad, but it's at a point if I don't fix it right it will come screaming back! Many thanks to H20 Restoration for helping me out with this job! Have a great weekend, and see you soon!Button
-
We were back at the basement remodel again the past couple of days. Trying to frame in the bathroom, which was supposed to be "ready" for installation after the house was built over 20 yrs ago. Turns out, the walls are not plumb, not square, and not anchored yo the floor! We've cut out for the door, but the drain for the shower is not lined up properly for the shower pan, and the walls are not square, so we have to make that line up before our friends from Markco Plumbing get here to install the pan and other items. You might recall the drain for the basement door. That's getting torn out, too! More on that soon. See you soon!Button
-
Hey gang! Forgot to do this follow-up post about the rooftop deck removal. The second section started out looking easy, then trouble showed itself! In the first set, you get a look at the area and also a low spot. We thought this was the roof sheathing being soft. WRONG! It was a combination of the boards splitting and the deck support boards being completely rotten! The splitting is due to the original style of composite boards not being sealed in a pvc wrap like the current day. Water seeps in, freezes, expands, and then explodes the board apart from the inside. Looking further, you can see this entire under deck system was just very poorly done. Now, we wait for the roofers and determine the next steps. See you soon!Button
-
Had a break from the basement to get materials. Rain started and couldn't deliver them, so I went to this customer needing their rooftop deck removed for some repairs on the roof underneath! I have to remove more tomorrow, and as you can see, the stack inside does not look like much after being pulled off the deck. See you soon!Button
-
A quick Saturday job for a family member. We had to repair a downspout that had become separated. We also changed out all the exterior light bulbs, with some being burned out and others being different colors. There were two different styles of fixtures, which were all updated to LED from incandescent and halogen, which will save a lot of money on energy costs! See you soon!Button
-
Well, my customer dodged a big bullet today! We opened up the walls to see how bad the mold would be behind it and in the insulation. Surprisingly, we only had mold up about 4 inches on the drywall only. I treated all areas with my trusty Concrobium to stop the mold. I have used this for several years now, and it works. We treated the studs, concrete wall, and floor area in front of the exposed wall. This will stay open with fans on to help dry this wood out for at least another week. Have a great weekend, and see you soon!Button
-
Things we did today. The first set all happened within thirty minutes of each, starting at the bottom when I arrived at the house after leaving it backed up when I left yesterday. The second set, did I tell you I hate carpet tack anchored in concrete? I hate it, like pretty much all contractors doing the same thing. This room is 18x30, and there is an anchor every 5 inches! Took me forever to get those out and cleaned up! The third set shows I will have some work ahead on the walls on each side of the door. The last 4 are how I left it last night after pressure washing and the amount of silt that washed down to the drain. My friends at Markco Plumbing will be assisting on this to get us working right again! See you soon!Button
-
I've been crazy busy in the last 10 days! Forgot to post, do here is a little bit of what we have done in that time. Repairs to a mirror frame and stand that was hollowed out, replacing a kitchen faucet, repairing a window screen while still mounted in the window, and removed carpeting in a basement room, which was flooded from the recent rains, then to find it's been flooding much longer than that, and this is what a room of carpet and pad looks like just before it's final destination of the dump! We'll be pressure washing and more this week! See you soon!Button
-
Start of another quick repair today, too! This house got a light flood from the heavy rains a few weeks ago. He got a service to get there quickly and vacuum the water to prevent mold, and they cut a short amount from the entry wall to help dry out with dehumidifiers. Everything was ready, finally, to complete the repairs. We opened up a bit higher to make sure of no mold being found, as was good. It's time to cover the studs and get first skim on. We'll let it dry over the weekend. See you soon!Button
-
Finished the ledge today! Paint finally matched and got the brackets installed! Start and finish pictures to start, and a reminder of the process. My friends at Granite World in Covington, KY, who made the granite ledge, were able to stop by and get it on the brackets quickly and more so safely! Let the professionals do their job! See you soon!Button
-
Finished the clearance height sign yesterday! We assembled some of it at my house, so we didn't block the drive-thru. We had to put two coats of paint on the poles so you could see the real color. Once installed, we hung the sign at the correct height to prevent damage to cars and the building! We've been asked to submit estimates for a few other jobs, so I guess they liked the work! See you soon!Button
-
Went back to the wall repair/ledge install. We sanded, primed, and got the first coat of paint on! My customer said this was for sure the right color! I thought differently, but she insisted. I'll be back tomorrow to continue after I get the correct color from #sherwinwilliams ! See you soon!Button
-
I've been behind on posts. This was a gate repair for a fence. The one side had fallen off completely, and the other side was pretty close to the same! Lag bolt heads had broken off, which caused the problems! We replaced all 24 on both sides with new coatex thru bolts for more strength and durability. Touched up with spray paint, and the family dog can roam in the backyard and not in the streets! Another happy customer! See you soon!Button
-
Back at it on the ledge. We added 3 additional anchor boards for stability, then picked up a board i had planed down to a half inch so it would fit correctly and be usable fir the brackets, and finally got my first coat of mud on to begin the finish. Getting there! See you soon!Button
-
Waiting for concrete to set up so we get to start the next job! The first pic shows where the granite ledge is going to end up. Marked my location, cut out a hole for the board to be installed, and then things went south, or left, or whatever. In a multimillion dollar home, we expected to find a 2x4 stud wall next to the foundation at a minimum and thought it would be a 2x6 wall. I was stunned to find, in essence, a 2x2 wall with only 1/2" drywall! My anchors are too long, the electric behind the insulation and partially run through the studs is not protected by plates and poorly installed overall. This ledge is very heavy, and I now have to rework all of the anchors to make this work and have my backer pine board recut and planed down a quarter inch. I will get it done right, but it's not gonna be easy. Back at it tomorrow! See you soon!Button
-
Hi gang! Forgot to post Saturday's start of a job, so I gave several pics today! My customer, who you should be able to figure out, had their drive-thru clearance sign taken out at the bottom and rendering it useless. I fixed this sign about ten years ago, but it wasn't this bad. Tear out the old cracked concrete, pour new with two additional safety posts to protect. Fill the posts today with concrete and rebar, which you can see in the obe picture. Seal them at the top and pre-prime for the final. Waiting for a few days to let concrete cure and then back to finish up for the final piece! See you soon!Button
-
Small repair to a hole in siding at about 12 ft up next to a window. First, I had to kevel all the rough edges that were uneven when it broke. Then, we applied a vinyl tape and used some heat for the best adhesion. Finally, we touched it up edge to edge to make it undetectable to the average set of eyes! The customer could not detect it from the ground, and he thought he remembered which one it was! See you soon!Button
-
Forgot to post Friday! Continued work on this home in Hebron! Sanded, primed and finish coated the ceiling, walls, and around the oven. May have to re-coat walls in sitting room. Sheen on paint seems off. Letting dry fully to make sure. Customer is very happy do for. See you soon!Button
-
More work at this wonderful home! We removed some existing extra group above the tile where a shelf used to be. The customer asked about additional tiles to be installed, and I suggested the stainless steel panel. Costs much less, no downtime for the stove, and easy to take care of besides matching their appliances! She is very happy with it! Also, I got more drywall work done, too. See you soon!Button
-
Repairs yesterday allowed me to start on the inside of the same area. The first pics show the damage from a little distance where you can see color above the windows. The upper pic shows how much the ceiling had dropped down from the water damage. This was a straight on shot. The second pics are after demo and new install with first skim. The last Pic shows before and after repairs started from a new in wall oven was installed and it was a bit smaller. This will get more coats as well. We have a few more things to do before rain hopefully. See you soon!Button
-
Slowly getting back in action! This customer had a leak, which was damaging the ceiling area underneath this bumpout roofing. When you look at the details, you can see why! We're returning to this home over the next couple of days to do more repairs related to this. Good to be back in action! See you soon!Button
-
On another note, if you are a small business owner or someone trying to increase your business, I know how to help you out! I have been involved with BNI (Business Networking International) for over 5 years and don't know where i would be without my group! We are all like-minded individuals working together in our networks to help each other's bottom line! If you are interested or curious about what and how we do it, send me a direct message, and I would be glad to tell you more! We have a visitor day coming up soon and would love for you to attend! See you soon!Button
-
Hey, Y'All! It's been awhile since I have posted, but I got a good excuse! I had some cutting, welding, and grinding done to my knee just before Xmas and I'm finally coming to the end of my therapy. In my first trip out, to a NEW house less than a yr old and have been to once already, I was asked to determine a water leak from the kitchen faucet. Turns out it was never installed correctly originally. The blue clip is pictured after being reinstalled properly. Repair took all of 30 seconds. As I looked at the bottom shelf of the sink base, it was evident the leak had been happening lightly for some time. In a nod to home inspectors, I would urge everyone with a new build to use their inspection agents and not those of the builder as is what happened in this case. It's great to be back in action! See you soon!Button
-
Deal has been made! Inspection coming up and then set for closing! Thanks!Button
-
Hey folks! Been on a long hiatus, but back in action again, for the moment! This project was to clean, sand, gel stain, and seal this fiberglass and wood entry door. The door gets full mid to late day direct sunlight. Obviously it gets pounded by the sun hard! I like doing these doors as you can really make a dramatic difference on the property! See you soon!Button
-
Work today was supposed to be repairs to a shower faucet, replace a toilet, replace a ceiling fan, and sone wall repairs. The faucet was seized, and when we looked behind a bad spot in the wall next to the shower, we found bigger issues! We will be returning to this in the future once we can get a better handle on the problems. We did complete all the other repairs, and the customer was happy! Hoping you all have a great holiday weekend and a wonderful Thanksgiving! See you soon!Button
-
I'm back in action today for another house going to market! Quick repairs to done nail pops on he roof as well as seal the chimney crown after cleaning it up! Had a couple of vent pipes where the seal had collapsed and topped those out for drainage and leak issues. We also repaired a broken roof interior rafter. W sintered in two boards per instructions from the engineer and irs ready to go! Have a great weekend, and see you soon!Button
-
Posting this early as I have a very busy day tomorrow. On the left is a very handsome young man who went off to WWII not long after he graduated from high-school. After becoming an enlisted officer and earning many medals, the two most important being The Silver Star and a Purple Heart, he was very lucky to return home and start a family. I am 1 of 14 that prominent gentleman on the right are very proud to call DAD. He crossed into Germany during his time in the military and only really talked about it with us once. I very much love my DAD and everything he stood for. On this Veterans Day I thank him and all the others who stood along with him to defend this country, and all others who have served in the military, including my brother Steve Hoffman and a young man who is living with us by the name of Dallas Parker. Thanks to all of you, past and present!Button
-
Hey kids! Back in action today on a quick job! We replaced a very worn out basement door. The customer wants more security and this solid wood door will certainly do the job! Have a great weekend and see you soon!Button
-
Picture says it all! Get out and VOTE!Button
-
Ok kids, here's the details! His name is Doc Holliday and he is from a litter from my brother in laws dog. The twist is he lives in New Mexico, and of course we live in Northern Kentucky! So we met halfway in Little Rock, AR. Just a 10 hour drive each way, BTW! Lorece just met this brother for the first time ever about a year and a half ago. So when she gets an opportunity to go see him for only the 4th time ever she was automatically in. I get to do the driving and she gets to hold a puppy! Isn't that a good deal! Anyway, he is definitely a cuddler and ready to play. Such a great way to get a new baby boy at 8 weeks and also, he's gonna be at least 100 pounds too!Button
-
Work today was in a very different location! This is a small lakeside house needing some TLC! First was replacing a gutter/repairs to the fascia trim/reinstalling a downspout. We had to rework the downspout to make it work correctly, and we had to properly attach the fascia board to hold the gutter! Second up was to re hang another downspout that was laying down on the job! And third was to replace fascia board and re anchor the remaining board to be able to install new fascytrin panels to protect the underside boards! Everything came out in good order and we removed all of the old materials during cleanup! See you soon!Button
-
Work continues on the project! Before and after pics of bedrooms in process or complete, we have also completed small closets around the house too, but it's hard to get pics when the doors are closed!😀. We'll have flooring and more painting being done over the weekend! Have a great weekend and see you soon! BTW, just a reminder this will be available soon!Button
-
Hey kids! Been working hard on this project house! More flooring is done and rooms are getting painted. Basement is fully painted and upstairs is about halfway done! Share this if you can, and remember, when I'm done it goes up for sale! PM me for details! See you soon!Button
-
Lower level walls and ceilings of this house are fully painted! We have to paint trim and doors before installing the new lvp flooring which will be next week! BTW did I mention this house will be coming to market very soon! Located in Elsmere, KY! Send me a message if you want to learn more about this property! Have a great weekend and see you soon!Button

Continued work on this project! First coat of paint on these walls in 26 years. Lot of repairs and filling in to get them smooth. Ceilings have already been painted and soon there will be new lvp plank flooring. We'll be keeping you posted on this one! Have a great weekend and see you soon!Button
-
Hey folks! It's been a while since I have posted activity and we are sorry for that. We have been busy on a big personal project and I just kept forgetting to do so. We did get some small projects done during this time and need to show you what's up! We did a major clean up, repair and seal to a big deck, along with caulking up some windows at another place. I will get more pics out there in a couple of days. Thanks for following and share with your friends! See you soon!Button
-
Guess what today is!?! We have finished the deck project! We even got a couple small last minute alterations completed! The satellite was removed and reinstalled over the fascia trim, and it still works perfect without any adjustments needed! We also covered the soffit underneath with full vent siding to keep out the critters! Our thanks to Gerard Roofing for teaming up with us for the two roof areas completed and helping this look fantastic! We also want to thank Markco Plumbing for taking care of a main water leak in our customers front yard and making it seamless. I have worked with both of these companies several times and it's always been great! Tomorrow we get back to the grind of small projects for awhile and making more happy customers! See you soon!Button
-
Winding down on the deck project! Today was pressure washing the back of the house and the deck itself to get rid of all of the dirt we tracked on it. We also installed most of the trim on the sides of the roof. We can't move the satellite dish due to tonight's their favorite show. We installed the trim around the post columns and adjusted one to get it more plumb. Tomorrow is some touch ups, finish trim install and putting in soffit on underside rear of deck to help keep out critters. See you soon!Button

Those two last pieces, 20 ft total, took almost 3 hours to install and stay in place. Joists hangars in the way and the last pieces were only 7/8" wide. Lots of finesse and bevel cuts. After lunch, we stained the ceiling with a very light semi transparent stain. This will age very well and give a great contract to the space! Almost done! See you soon!Button

We thought we were going to get the ceiling done today but mother nature ran us out with 1 full and 1 very partial row left to install! We'll finish the install on Monday and get to staining it right away! We also have to install a soffit underneath the deck too! Have a great weekend and see you soon!Button

Back at the deck, finally! Ok, we're rounding third and heading for home! (Thanks Joe!) Electric is up and running and we can cover! We are using 1x6 tongue and groove V board for the ceiling cover. We got the wood delivered at noon, got lunch, and got to work. The first board row had to be notched at each rafter for the tie at the end. After that it was smooth sailing for about 4 hours. Looks great and I think the color choices for the ceiling is going to look great! Back at it tomorrow assuming the rain will let us! See you soon!Button

Yesterday's work and the start of today! Kitchen cabinets were partially installed by another contractor. He did the customer a bad service. We had to remove and separate them to redo the work correctly! Cabinets and counters, along with sink install and plumbing in about 6 total hours. The other guy was 4 days and counting and the wall cabinets were still in boxes! Customer is happy and we move on! See you at stop 2 soon!Button

We did some adjustments to a couple sections of railing and installed the first steps of these column wraps. The first is to help hide the satellite dish wiring to go under the deck. We still need to install the skirts at the top and bottom. The second will house the wiring for the ceiling lights and fan. It has a bit more work left than the other. Have a great holiday weekend! Be safe in your travels and see you soon!Button

Forgot to tell you a story, I had my final inspection scheduled for Tuesday. It went really well up until the inspector looked up to see electrical work had been done, we didn't do it, and he said I can't pass until that's inspected. We wait until Friday to continue the work. In the meantime, we were replacing a shower faucet cartridge which did not want to participate in the action. 16 pieces later we got it all out without damage. We also replaced a defective kitchen faucet and my customer is very happy! Going to the Reds game! See you soon!Button

Today was getting a coat of stain on the posts of the upper deck area. Like I said last week it's all about the details! Each one of the black T straps at the top of the posts need to be removed and reinstalled individually to get stain behind them per the customer request. Another cost tomorrow after we get our inspection for final approval. Then we hope to start on the ceiling. You may have noticed some electrical installed. The customer has had some lights and a ceiling fan. See you soon!Button
-
Racing done! Now we get inspection on Tuesday and move on to the ceiling and finishing staining the posts where the customer has started and this will finally be a wrap! The gate setup is really nice and is a very solid close! Have a great weekend and see you soon!Button
-
Railing is almost done! Just have to connect at the top of the stairs and install the gate! Once the railing is installed we can get final inspection done and then move on to the final two parts of the project! You may also notice the customer has begun staining the wood posts white to match the trim. This is going to be one great extra room for the house! See you soon!Button

Today was a tough day. One man short, one man headed to the ER after a cat snuck in to the house and chewed up his hand before he could get it out. Oh yeah, rabies shot series too! Either way we got some work done! Two tail sections fully installed. The remaining posts installed and all upper hangars installed. Touched up several areas of fascia with issues. We also created special barrier spacers for the hangars installed on the treated lumber so they don't have a corrosive reaction down the road! All things needed to get the job done right! Back at it tomorrow! See you soon!Button
-
Railing started today! Stair railing is so difficult. Cut, adjust, adjust more, loosen, tighten up, rework a little, adjust some more, tighten up, done! Straight rail will be much easier. See you soon!Button
-
All the decking is in and posts are being installed! Still waiting on some railing parts but should be done by Wednesday! Then inspection and moving on to some additional work on the ceiling and fascia trim and soffit work! We're getting there! See you soon!Button

Happy birthday Dad! We all miss you!Button

Lots more details today. Landing is complete after getting our delivery! Fascia boards are installed, but we have a few touch ups due to boards slightly twisting. Our remaining boards are precut for length but they have more alterations needed. We also checked out our railing delivery and realized we need to change our the posts. Getting closer! See you soon!Button
-
Details, details. We are waiting on some materials to deliver so details were attended to. We attached fascia boards on two sides of the deck, got some additional boards cut for the landing, picked up most of our railing order, and installed some critter blocking on the side of the deck to keep them out from under the deck! Materials coming tomorrow and we continue! See you soon!Button

Here at the Reds game with my favorite gang! These pics were 15 minutes before game time. Gonna be a light crowd tonight! #GDR. #GOREDS See you soon!Button
-
Looking good if I do say so myself! Waiting on a couple of darker boards to deliver to get the surface done! Picking up most of the railing tomorrow to begin that process. BTW, the ceiling will get some additional treatment to it as well! Another addition to the job! The customer is really liking the color combination too! See you soon!Button
-
Seems like it would go faster but you don't realize it takes 40 fasteners for each one of these composite decking boards to be installed! Besides the fasteners there are 2 cuts and then each end must have a groove routered to be used for the fasteners. It takes a lot more time to install each other one than most people think! We will be back at it tomorrow! See you soon!Button
-
Tedious details today to make sure we were square which took a lot of time. We were able to get a single center color board in place for the deck. Customer really likes the color setup! He also had developed a water leak in the front of his house by the street. I referred him to my friends at Markco Plumbing. They arrived today and they scheduled a water vac truck to remove the dirt around without damage to the other utilities. They got the work done quickly and returned with fresh topsoil and customer has already seeded and is watering! His neighbor across the street has the same thing and their plumber showed up with a small backhoe and job is expected to take several days. Have a great weekend and see you soon!Button
-
Steps complete and moved on to the picture frame for the decking! Outer edge is always the slowest! We'll be down 1 body tomorrow but will still keep at it! See you soon!Button
-
It's all about the details! Each step has 3 boards, 4 return cuts, 4 starter clips, 4 decking clips, 12 screws, and requires a total of 16 different cuts along with a routed edge on the nose tread. That makes a total of around 30 minutes of work per step to install the decking. We'll be back at it tomorrow! See you soon!Button
-
Starting to see composite finally! Steps were clad with composite fascia on both sides today and we finished taping them with the sealer tape! Tomorrow we start on the steps from the bottom up and we will start on the picture frame hopefully as well! See you soon!Button
-
Back hard at it on the deck! Finally have actual work you can see completed! All installation for picture framing is completed and sealed over! We added a couple last minute changes to the deck which are going to look great! We will be using @trexcompany decking for the surface and stairs, along with @afcocolsrails for the railing and post wraps! Looking forward to getting this visible to you all! Keep watching and share with your friends and family! See you soon!Button

We got some visitors in town from Oregon! My wife's sister and brother-in-law scheduled a stop while vacationing in this area! Brother in law's first ever MLB game and only her second ever! Hoping for a win tonight to make it great night for them! Let's go Reds! See you soon! #GDR. #GOREDSButton

Some of our favorites at the Ball Park every time we come! #GDR #GOREDS See you soon!Button

Hey Y'all! After a few days of being away from the deck project, mostly due to weather, we returned to find the stringers had bowed way out of whack! We had to remove, re custom cut the 4 stringers, and re-install them back. We changed up the blocking to eliminate any possible twists in the future! Back at it tomorrow! See you soon!Button
-
I had to send the boys to this one today. The customer had a new AC unit installed in the attic recently by my friends at @schnellerknochelmann and they had to extend the opening to get it in safely. We got the call to fix it! New trim, new panel with a piano hinge to get everything to operate correctly, and a quick paint.job and we are done! Have a great day and see you soon!Button
-
After the deck has passed structural inspection, we have to add in the additional framework for the picture frame setup for the decking. This is not easy, and you have to keep in mind about all the details, like posts and railing setup too! See you soon!Button
-
8m feeling half way here! But the ladies are feeling fancy! Looking for a second win in the series against the Marline! #GOREDS #GDR See you soon!Button
-
Back to the deck after the concrete has cured up! Today we installed the second last support post. This then allowed us to custom cut our stringers and get them tacked in. We still have a few adjustments to do, but we will get out of this heat and enjoy the weekend! Have a great weekend yourself and see you soon!Button
-
Work today is repairs to a fence where a tree fell on it a short while back. The request was to replace the top rail and straighten up the fencing as much as possible. We achieved both and added in an additional support post to strengthen the overall section of fencing! We also added support straps to several other areas of fencing which needed help desperately! Another happy customer! See you soon!Button
-
Replaced a very old, hollow core entry door today! Old door was out in about 10 minutes. New #thermatrudoors Benchmark fiberglass entry door went in fairly quickly! This is a very nice looking entry door with a much higher security point and no chance of rotting! We found a couple of pennies in the door frame, which we pulled out, dusted off and reinstalled for good luck to the homeowner! Been a little bit since I have seen some of them in a door frame! See you soon!Button
-
Got our second inspection today and poured the last two column supports! We use a concrete mixer and a concrete vibration tool to get our install done right! BTW, the inspector said he was really happy with what he saw today! Made all of us on the crew proud! See you soon!Button
